ABOUT ENROLLMENT

What are the education requirements for applicants?

Generally, this comes down to the discretion of Teaching House, though the University of Cambridge does suggest that CELTA centers accept only students who have earned at least a high school Diploma or the equivalent. We need to know that students are capable of handling the large workload and teaching practice that is part of CELTA teacher training.

Is there an age requirement for applicants?

Again, this requirement is generally made at the discretion of the center running the CELTA course. The University of Cambridge suggests that centers admit only candidates who are 20 or older; however, as this is a suggestion and not a rule, centers are allowed to admit younger students at their discretion. The policy at Teaching House is to admit students based on their qualifications and credentials as long as they are 18 or older. There is no age limit.
