TEACHING HOUSE CELTA SCHEDULE

(The following times are PM unless otherwise noted.)

Intensive Full-time Course:

For the Full-Time Course, times are 9:00 am – 5:30pm, Monday – Friday. The course is four weeks long.



Extensive Part-Time Courses:

For the Extensive Part-Time Courses, times are 6 – 9:30 pm each Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. In addition, there are ten Saturdays, the times for which are 10am – 4pm. The course is ten weeks long.

Both the Full-Time and Part-Time Courses are the same length: 130 total contact hours.

The 4-week course is very intensive and requires a full-time commitment. In addition to class time, you can expect to spend a part of most evenings and at least one day over the weekend working independently on lesson planning and course assignments. Cambridge ESOL recommends dedicating a minimum of 20-25 hours a week outside of the course to this work.
100% attendance is required. Employment during the course and very long commutes are strongly discouraged. A clear schedule for four weeks is the best approach to take.

The Part-Time Course is equal in nature to the Full-Time Course but is spread out over a longer period of time. It is designed for people who have other commitments (work, study, etc.) but candidates need to commit to attending the course for the complete period and doing course work at weekends and/or on alternative days of the week when they are not studying on the course.

You should also have good physical, mental and emotional health in order to be able to cope with the rigorous demands of CELTA certification and the workload placed on you.
